Datalinc Pty Ltd ABN 28 682 714 030 Surry Hills NSW GST-registered Not affiliated with the ATO

Scope

What this is, and what it is not

One GST-registered WooCommerce site per key. Frozen document types — not a PDF designer.

This is

  • Tax invoices on paid orders
  • Adjustment notes on refunds
  • One site per key
  • ABR lookup for ABN and GST-registered status

This is not

  • Affiliated with the ATO
  • A BAS lodgement service
  • Xero
  • A packing-slip or credit-note suite
  • A tax-exemption product

The documents

What’s on the invoice

A frozen template. The title is Tax Invoice — not “Invoice”, not a packing slip. Mixed carts get a GST column. Refunds that need one get an adjustment note, not a generic credit note.

  1. Title. The document is intended to be a tax invoice, so it is titled Tax Invoice.
  2. Supplier. Legal name and ABN of the GST-registered store — not a trading-name flourish.
  3. Issue date. The day the PDF is generated, when the order is paid.
  4. Lines. Description, quantity and price from the WooCommerce order.
  5. GST column. GST amount per line, not buried in a footer slogan.
  6. Mixed cart. Taxable and GST-free lines are labelled. Mixed supplies cannot hide behind “includes GST”.
  7. Buyer ABN. Shown when the GST-inclusive total is A$1,000 or more (identity or ABN).
  8. Totals. GST-exclusive, GST, and GST-inclusive — tabular figures a bookkeeper can tick.

This document is an adjustment note (GST Act s 29-75), not a generic credit note.

  1. Title. Adjustment note — the GST Act document, not a “credit note” PDF.
  2. Effect. Decreasing or increasing, stated in words. This sample is decreasing.
  3. Reason. Refund, return, or price change — taken from the Woo refund.
  4. Original invoice. Points at the tax invoice being adjusted.
  5. GST adjustment. The change to GST payable, as a figure.
  6. Price difference. The change in price for that refund.
Helps produce documents that include the details in GST Act s 29-70 / s 29-75. Sample only — Example Hardware Pty Ltd is a fictional merchant. Not legal advice.

How it works

A site key, then the PDFs live on Woo

  1. Subscribe for a site key.

Checkout is on api.wootf.com. Monthly or yearly, GST-inclusive.

  2. Paste it in WooCommerce.

Without a live key the plugin is settings only — it does not issue documents.

  3. Store legal name, ABN, GST-registered.

We look the ABN up on the ABR so you can see entity and GST registration.

  4. PDFs on paid orders.

A tax invoice attaches to the customer email and is filed on the order. When a refund needs an adjustment note, that PDF is issued too.

Cancel anytime; issued PDFs stay on Woo. The plugin is not listed on wordpress.org yet — get a site key here.

Australian Business Register

Live ABN lookup. GUID stays with us.

WooTF confirms entity details and GST registration against the ABR. We do not claim the customer owns the ABN. The ABR GUID stays on our Worker. The ABN is sent to the ABR; PDFs render on the merchant’s WordPress. Order PII is not hosted by us.

Generic invoice plugins print paper. Xero keeps books. Tax-filing tools lodge. WooTF is the Australian document types on Woo.

Still your tax settings

Works with Woo. Does not replace your accountant.

  • You still set 10% GST in WooCommerce. WooTF reads your tax classes. It does not invent them, and it does not decide whether an export is GST-free.
  • Does not replace your accountant. General information only. You remain responsible for GST and BAS.
  • Optional Xero for BAS. Keep using Xero if that’s how you lodge. WooTF is not Xero and does not sync your BAS.
  • An ABN does not make a sale GST-free. GST-free is a classification on the line, not a number typed at checkout.

FAQ

Straight answers

Are you affiliated with the ATO?

No. WooTF is a product of Datalinc Pty Ltd. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the Australian Taxation Office.

Do you lodge my BAS?

No. WooTF is not a BAS lodgement service. You — or your accountant — remain responsible for GST and BAS.

Why an adjustment note instead of a credit note?

A credit note is an accounting document. An adjustment note is the GST Act document for a decreasing or increasing adjustment (s 29-75). WooTF issues an adjustment note when a refund needs one: titled Adjustment note, with the original invoice reference, reason, GST adjustment, and price difference.

Is it one site per key?

Yes. Each site key is for one GST-registered WooCommerce site.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Cancel anytime. PDFs already issued stay on your WooCommerce store.

What fields are on the PDF?

Tax invoices include the title Tax Invoice, supplier name and ABN, issue date, description, quantity and price, a GST column, mixed taxable versus GST-free lines where relevant, buyer ABN when the sale is A$1,000 or more, and totals. Adjustment notes include the title Adjustment note, decreasing or increasing effect, refund reason, original invoice reference, GST adjustment, and price difference. This helps produce documents that include the details in GST Act s 29-70 / s 29-75. It is not legal advice.

I’m not GST-registered. Can I use this?

No. If you are not GST-registered you must not issue a Tax Invoice. Do not use WooTF.

Is the plugin on wordpress.org?

Not yet. The plugin is not listed on wordpress.org. Get a site key here, then paste it into WooCommerce.
